Cascais and Estoril Proximity Justice
In force since October 2019, the protocol between the Parish Council of Cascais and Estoril and the Arbitration Center of the Autonomous University of Lisbon (CAUAL), has proved to be an asset for the population of our Parish in resolving disputes. In the year 2020, 90% of the cases received were successfully resolved, without the need to go to court.
This protocol allows the population, companies and institutions of the Parish of Cascais and Estoril to access justice more easily and at low cost, through mediation and conciliation services, carried out by technicians certified by the Ministry of Justice. This is an alternative to the courts, faster, through extrajudicial means of dispute resolution.
The conflicts covered by this protocol may be:
– Family nature (marital relations, regulation of parental responsibilities, shares, inheritances, divorce agreements);
– Consumption conflicts (Water, electricity, gas, internet, operator subscription);
– Neighborhood conflicts;
– Labor disputes;
– Administrative conflicts.
